What people say

  • We are so glad to have found PawPlay in Langport for our two young terriers. They have settled down with the huge family of dogs that play and stay at this friendly, efficiently run home from home. Pippa, Richard and Becky give us so much confidence in looking after our two special rascals. Whether that be for the day or when we go on holiday. They come back exhausted after all their antics. Our Westie was a bit of a nervous little boy before going to PawPlay but he is now fully socialised, is confident with all the dogs and loves his time there. He runs in looking to see who he is going to spend the day with which is lovely to see and gives me great confidence leaving them there, knowing that they are having a great time. If you are looking for day care or holiday cover, we would definitely recommend PawPlay.

  • It has been my pleasure to have been able to place my dog, Max, at this ‘haven’ for dogs, for the past 6 years. Max is super excited on his scheduled days at his home from home. He races into the facility without a moments hesitation and is warmly greeted by Richard or Pippa, as if he were an important guest. This provides me with a great deal of peace of mind to know that he is so well looked after both during the day, as well as overnight. The level of service and support is excellent as I can testify from personal experience when I was unexpectedly admitted urgently into Hospital last year. Not only did Pippa and Richard seamlessly maintain Max’s continuing support for the duration of my stay in hospital but they were able to source his specific food and medication requirements. This shows how much they go above and beyond the normal expectations of customer service for their four legged friends and their owners. I would wholeheartedly recommend Paw Play for anyone who is looking for the best in ‘doggy day and overnight care’.

  • They had a fantastic time, they were happy and worn out when they came home. I could tell they had loved it.

  • This was our first time leaving Turner & Hooch our one year old lab's with Richard & Pippa, we could tell on picking them up after a week that they had a fantastic time they were very happy dogs we will be coming back for sure, loved the photo's on Facebook Richard. Many thanks Richard, Pippa & team for taking such good care of our boys (woof woof from Turner & Hooch) xx

  • Odie is our jack russell. He loves it at pawplay. Mum sends him there when we go away. There are loads of other jack russels for him to hang out with and he especially loves a retriever called Suki. Thumbs up for pawplay.

  • Tia absolutely adores paw play and has done ever since she started going there over 4 years ago. Richard, Pip and lovely Becky have helped Tia really come out of her shell since she retired from working with the police and she now enjoys her retirement to the full. We know she is in very safe hands there and is always so happy albeit a little tired from her fun filled day when we pick her up. Thank you ☺️

  • After Storm had been so stressed in kennels, this was the perfect doggie holiday for her. In fact when I went to pick her up she was so content and comfortable she took herself back off to her cabin rather than want to get in the car.

  • We picked up our lurcher just over 4 years ago and as he had been a stray we knew very little about his background. In order to ensure that he was well socialised with other dogs, we approached Pawplay and he now attends their daycare sessions once a week. He loves it and the care that he receives on the days that he goes is excellent. Over the last year, we have started using Pawplay’s boarding service and again he has shown no signs of concern or anxiety and trots in without even an backward glance.

  • We first heard about Pawplay by word of mouth (always the best recommendation). We went to have a look round prior to our holiday and were very impressed. Percy made himself at home right away. A week into our holiday we were wondering how he was getting on so sent Pip & Richard a text. We received a reply almost immediately assuring us that Percy was having a great time which put our minds at rest. When we collected him, he didn't seem at all keen on coming with us. When we got him home, he slept for nearly two days! Clearly he had had a great time. Thank you.

  • After our boxer dog started coming back from her previous "holiday" home unhappy and not herself we were lucky enough to find Paw Play just at the nick of time. What a god send. We never worry about Maisey while we are away and know that when we get back we will have one tired (but very happy) dog. We know how much she loves it there because she always tries to sneak back in when we pick her up. Thank you so much Richard and Pippa x

  • Lu Lu never wants to leave. I think she likes the rabbits.

  • I started using Pawplay about 16 years ago after my nephew told me about them to get my then dog used to other people and other dogs, since then I have taken all my and my daughter’s dogs to Pawplay both for doggy day care and to board - all my dogs over the years have come home from doggy day care absolutely shattered from playing and running all day and just want to sleep, except for dinnertime. It’s the same when they board they come home tired but happy and it makes unpacking easier as they aren’t under your feet. Richard and Pip are very professional and on top of up-to-date vaccinations and the dogs health. Becky is great and on numerous occasions has told me that the dogs (3 of them) love having cuddles with her. I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending them.

  • Rudi has been a regular at PawPlay since reaching the 6 months threshold a few years ago. And he loves it. He virtually admits himself, knocking on the gate for entry, me forgotten. It would be nice to think there was a little tear in his eye on separation but there most definitely isn’t, and so I can relax and get on with my plans knowing he will be having the best day with his dog pals, under the care and supervision of Pip, Richard & co. - who are not allowed to ever retire!

  • Poppy and Daisy's third stay and how happy can two dogs be. Truly is doggie heaven, they go wagging their tails and come back happy too. No worries about leaving them and hassle free. Many thanks again XX. We're already planning our next holiday.

  • My dog Ros has been coming to Pawplay since she was a puppy. She has always loved coming here, and now, when let out of the car at the top of the lane, runs to the entrance without ever looking back. Clearly a sign she is happy! It simply offers something other places don't (or can't); plenty of land for the dogs to run free, and stimulation from constant play with other dogs. As well as getting fantastic exercise, it has been an education for Ros in how to interact with other dogs. Highly recommended.

  • This is an amazing place to take your dog, your dog will have a holiday too! We used the day care and my dog lost weight, learnt how to be a dog again and got really excited about going each day. I would recommend to anyone - the owners are really great and real dog lovers!

  • Ruby, my cairn terrier has been a regular at Paw Play over the past year. It has become her 'home from home' and each time we arrive she bounces around with excitement. It is such a relief to find somewhere which provides such peace of mind. I know that Ruby will be well cared for and have her every need met. She comes home, every time, happy and exhausted.

  • Our many dogs have been to stay ever since pawplay started. They don't want to come home! They are so happy, and really well looked after. It really is their second home.

  • Just a quick message to let you just know that we finally had to say goodbye to our beloved Ros last week. She was well on her way to 15 years old, so we were grateful that her life was maxed out. I want to thank you both again for the early and mid years of her life. I am convinced those early years when she spent a lot of time with you were instrumental in the sweet natured dog she became. Thank you also for the last time she spent time with you, when you had her around the house as she was too old to mix with the young dogs. She is and will be missed tremendously. Maybe I will catch you at the airport one day, although I am now part time, so less likely.

  • I can't thank Pippa, Richard and team enough for looking after Wilson, our 6 month old, highly excitable and boisterous Wirehaired Vizsla. While we were away we could see from the photos and video Pippa and Richard posted on facebook that Wils was having the time of his life!! It made so much difference to know that, especially as it was the first time we'd ever left him with anyone. He's come home really happy and a lot calmer than he was 2 weeks ago, and he seems to have stopped jumping up on people too, don't know how you managed it, but thanks!! 10 out of 10 is not enough!

  • Pawplay is a fantastic place with acres of ground for the dogs to have fun! My black lab has been going to Pawplay regularly for the last 2 years, since she was 6 months old. It has really helped her with socialisation and learning about other dog’s behaviour. They come home really tired and happy… Keep up the good work Rich and Pip !

  • We live near Aberdeen and hated putting our black lab Dexter into ordinary kennels. Last autumn we drove him down from Scotland and left him with Richard and Pippa whilst we went on holiday. We were delighted with the Pawplay experience and will shortly be booking Dexter in whilst we go on holiday again. We just wish there was a Scottish branch of Pawplay!!

  • Barney and breezer were looked after so well they came home happy and tired. The owners are amazing we would recommend Pawplay to all our friends. Barney and breezer said thank you and see you soon! X

  • We would like to say a big thank you and to show our appreciation for the wonderful care and love you gave George for more than 9 years. Thank you for sticking with him in the early days and not giving up on him. We don’t know what we would have done without Pawplay, because we wouldn’t have wanted him to go anywhere else. He was always excited and happy when he realised, he was going to stay with you and there was never a backward glance as he raced through the gates. We were very happy and had no worries or qualms about leaving him as we knew he would be well looked after. George really enjoyed all his away days and holiday and had so many happy times with you.

  • We had never used kennels before but needed somewhere for our exuberant Parsons Jack Russell to stay for the weekend of our wedding and PawPlay was recommended. I need not have worried; Rosie didn’t want to leave all her new friends when we went to collect her! Since then Rosie goes regularly once a week; she runs in excitedly and is happy and relaxed when we collect her. She benefits from being able to run freely in a safe and secure environment and the contact with other dogs has helped her become calm and relaxed when we meet dogs out and about. The team are so kind and caring, we thoroughly recommend them!

  • Benji, my Westie, adores going to Pawplay for the day. He can’t wait to get out of the car when he arrives and runs in without a backward glance. I know he will be responsibly looked after. Richard, Pippa, Beckie and staff are very friendly and welcoming and love all the dogs in their care. He comes home happy and tired. I can highly recommend Pawplay without any hesitation. Thank you all for my peace of mind whilst he is with you.

  • Our 12 year old Collie Cross and 1 year old Ridgeback have obviously had a fantastic fortnight at Pawplay. They are both calmer, happier and healthier after all that socialising and excellent care. The Ridgeback is transformed and appears to have grown up. I couldn't recommend Paw Play enough. Thank you very much Richard, Pippa and the team.

  • A tired dog is a happy dog. We believe in that! Bertha is our bloodhound, 8 months and 45kg. After spending 9 nights with you guys Bertha is more polite and gentle even when she is in 'playful mode' and it helped us a lot specially with our daughter, 10 years and 35kg. We really would like to let Bertha with you again during the Easter leave but she is in season. Many thanks from the Brazilian family!

  • Our very boisterous 4 year old labradoodle has just enjoyed his first stay at Paw Play of 16 nights. What a wonderful experience he had being free all day to play with other dogs. He will never go anywhere else now. We have tried a few kennels and family have also looked after him but when we have returned he has been stressed and smelly. When I collected him after 16 nights he was chilled, relaxed and did not smell. Although he was pleased to see us he clearly misses his new friends. Due to previous experience's I text Richard and Pippa and they quickly reassured me he was having a great time. I now know I can go away and leave Nugget in such capable hands with Richard and Pippa who understand he is just a great big crazy hound.

  • Our Springer Spaniel Bobby has been going to Paw Play for the past 18 months and he absolutely loves it there. Pippa, Richard and the team really do look after the dogs and Bobby has really benefited from interacting with all his friends on a regular basis. Bobby has also stayed at Paw Play on numerous occasions and always comes away happy and relaxed. I would recommend Paw Play to all dog lovers! Thank you Pippa, Richard and the team.

  • I am very sorry to have to contact you as Woody died today following a short illness. He went off his food last week visited the vet's on Friday and stayed in. He continued to go down hill and the vet decided on an operation to see what was going on. (nothing was showing up scan wise etc) He discovered that he had a complete liver failure probably caused by cancer. By agreement he did not wake him up. We are devastated by all of this. Obviously he will not be at 'boot camp' on 2/12 nor sadly, ever again. Can I take this opportunity to thank you for the care you have taken with Woody since he first came to you as a puppy some 7 years ago. We could not have wished for a better place for him to attend and he loved being with you as he was always in a positive mood when collected, sometimes I think he really wanted to stay with you! Sadly we will not in the future be having another dog but if we should we will return, in the meantime feel free to use our comments in any way you wish. Thank you once again and keep up the good work.

  • Monty has been going to Pawplay for nearly 3 years now and absolutely loves it. I know when I drop him off he'll have a great time. He gets plenty of exercise, is incredibly well looked after and has learnt to socialise with other dogs. I feel very lucky to have Rich and Pip on my doorstep looking after Monty, but most importantly he enjoys every minute of it.

  • What a wonderful K9 retreat! We would not leave our black labrador Archie anywhere else, he loves it there. We had to leave him for an extended stay & were rather worried as he had developed a severe noise phobia. No need to have worried. He reurned home a new dog, just like his old self, full of fun, scared of nothing, lean & fit. We are so grateful to the fantastic & loving care given to him.

  • Colin, our Great Dane has just returned from his first stay at Pawplay and has slept ever since he got back. He obviously had such a great time playing with everyone. A big thank you to Richard and Pippa as I didn't have a moments anxiety about leaving him in such capable hands. It is not easy to look after a Great Dane but they did a fantastic job. I will certainly use them again and Colin can't wait to see his friends again. A very happy dog!
